Wednesday--Interactions Illustrations (Due Friday, April 10) Thursday--Food Web Notes Friday--Food Web Activity, Illustration Due Hello, environmental science! With the return of warmth and life to the northern hemisphere and the arrival of spring, I enjoy studying environmental science this time of year. Our focus for the next few weeks is on how organisms interact within and with their environments.
We went over in class today both how the human body unit test is going to be graded and the potential missing work students may have. Going into April, the main things that students may be missing are pieces of the respiratory excretory tic-tac-toe project and the study guide for the human body unit test. The study guide is a significant portion of the grade for the test and does need to be finished. For the tic-tac-toe, students can click on their grade to see what they are missing. A reminder: students are always welcome to retake quizzes and tests; they simply must prepare for them and arrange when they would like to retake with me. Monday--Interactions Among Living Things Notes Tuesday--4-Square Vocabulary Cards Wednesday-- 4-Square Vocabulary Cards Friday-- This week marks our final week with the human body. We will have a quiz over frogs as well as a test that covers all of the organ systems from the last quarter. We will work on preparing over the course of the week for Friday's test. The week after spring break, we will be starting our unit on environmental science.
Monday--Frog Quiz Tuesday--Human Body Study Guide Wednesday--Human Body Study Guide Thursday--Human Body Test Friday--Bioaccumulation Lab Your wait is over! It's frog week!
Monday--Frog Introduction Tuesday--Frog Groups, Start Frog Packet Wednesday--Frog Packet (This must be completed before you can start dissecting on Thursday) Thursday--Frog Dissection Friday--Frog Dissection Happy March! The weather is definitely feeling spring-like and making me excited for warmer weather and mornings warm enough for me to sip coffee on my patio on the weekends.
Note, because of the unexpected circumstances on Thursday and Friday of last week, students may arrange to retake quizzes with me after school or during advisory on Tuesday or at lunch on Wednesday. Thank you for your patience. Monday--Respiratory/Excretory Tic-Tac-Toe Tuesday--Respiratory/Excretory Tic-Tac-Toe Wednesday--Respiratory/Excretory Tic-Tac-Toe Thursday--Respiratory/Excretory Tic-Tac-Toe Friday--No School, Teacher Work Day All work for the Tic-Tac-Toe will be due on Tuesday, March 10. Believe it or not, we are already in the final week of February! This week is a bit of a hodgepodge in what we are studying. We are finishing up with the nervous system, touching on integumentary, and starting our project on the respiratory and excretory systems. Other things of note, firm deadline for third quarter is this Thursday.
